Friends of Walsden Infant School (FWI)

As the name suggests the FWI committee are "friends" of the infant school, comprising of parents, teachers and grandparents, whose aim is to support the school and ensure the children get the most out of their time there. Walsden Infant School is a small friendly school that welcomes involvement from the local community as well as the children's families. The committee helps focus all their efforts to get the "extras" that can make all the difference.

Our primary role has been to raise funds and we have organised a variety of events, including Chritmas and summer fayres, family discos, Easter grand prize draws and many more.

We have raised enough money to contribute to the school's purchase of outside play equipment and funding an annual trip for the entire school, which is enjoyed by all the children.

The committee normally meets 2/3 times a term in a local pub and all the meetings and events are notified in the school's weekly newsletter. Anybody is welcome to come along.
